Frequently Asked Questions

Can Security help me if I have a flat tire?

If you return to your vehicle at the end of the day only to discover that you have a low or flat tire, we can provide a portable air tank which will provide minimal air pressure restoration in many cases and allow the driver to reach a tire store for repairs. Contact us at 208.334.3468, or via a call box, for help.

If I have to leave late in the evening, can I have an officer escort me for safety?

We are happy to have a Security office escort you to your vehicle after work. Just contact the Security Control Center at 208.334.3468 before you are ready to leave. Please give us at least 30 minutes notice.

What should I do if there is a threatening person in my office?

If you feel threatened by anyone, either a coworker or a visitor, contact Security at 208.334-2222 as soon as it is safe to do so If a visitor is verbally or physically threatening you, keep communicating with them, and try to signal a coworker to get help.

If there is an emergency in my office, should I call 911?

When you are responding to an emergency it is best to contact Security at 208.334-2222 rather than calling emergency personnel yourself. They can contact and communicate with emergency personnel, and assist them to make sure the trouble is handled as quickly as possible.

Why are there officers directing traffic in the parking garage when I arrive in the morning and leave at night?

The officers stationed at dangerous intersections of the parking garage are there to help assure the safety of everyone in the garage. It can be difficult to see vehicles coming and going from the structure, and the officer is there to help make sure that someone doesn't run into you!

What happens when I receive a warning or ticket for a parking violation?

Parking warnings are issued by Capitol Mall Security as a notice of violation - the warning slip will explain the nature of the violation. There is no charge or fee associated with a warning, though repeated violations may result in a ticket. The city of Boise handles the collection of fees for all tickets issued by Capitol Mall Security.

I left my parking tag in another vehicle - will I get a ticket?

If you have temporarily misplaced your tag, or left it in another vehicle, request a temporary permit to avoid getting a ticket.

If you don't find your question here, try the Facilities Services FAQ or the Capitol Mall Parking FAQ, or contact Security at 208.334.3468.
