Wellness Program for State Employees, Retirees, and Dependents

The State of Idaho's Wellness Program offers state employees, retirees, and dependents options to better manage and improve their health under the administration of Blue Cross of Idaho. A tobacco cessation program is available to assist individuals to quit smoking. In April 2006, a weight loss program was announced to help participants take off extra pounds. Effective July 1, 2006, Asthma was added to the comprehensive disease management program which also includes Congestive Heart Failure and Diabetes.

Blue Cross of Idaho's WellConnected Program

As a benefit of their medical plan, State of Idaho employees and their families now have access to Blue Cross of Idaho's WellConnected program. WellConnected is an interactive online program featuring a Personal Health Assessment tool, an online health encyclopedia and comparison tools which allow members to compare drug costs and potential interactions, among other features. Smoking Cessation Information Brochure

Free tobacco cessation counseling will be offered through the Idaho Quitline. The program will also provide pharmaceutical quit aids to tobacco users who enroll in the program for a $10 co-payment. The brochure outlines the tobacco cessation program.

Weight Management Incentive Program Information Brochure

As part of the State's Wellness Initiative, a weight management program is now available through Blue Cross of Idaho. This program will help you to identify your target weight and provide access to several nationally-recognized weight loss programs that will assist you in achieving your weight loss objectives.
