What happens when I retire from the State of Idaho?
The State of Idaho has determined that the prescription drug coverage on all of the Active and Retired Employee medical plans is creditable. Creditable means that the amount this prescription drug coverage is expected to pay (on average) is as much as what the standard Medicare prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D) will pay. Click here to read or download a copy of the notice.
The annual renewal of the Active Employee medical plans with Blue Cross of Idaho has been completed. Each medical plan has been renewed with a modification to the prescription drug benefit. In addition, the Office of Group Insurance remarketed the Active Employee dental plan last fall and as a result, Blue Cross of Idaho will become the state's plan carrier effective July 1, 2009.
As a benefit of their medical plan, State of Idaho employees and their families now have access to Blue Cross of Idaho's WellConnected program. WellConnected is an interactive online program featuring a Personal Health Assessment tool, an online health encyclopedia and comparison tools which allow members to compare drug costs and potential interactions, among other features. Read more about the program in the WellConnected informational flyer, and view the Blue Cross One-to-One newsletters for more wellness tips.
