The following benefits are available to eligible state employees:
- Medical coverage through Blue Cross of Idaho with two health plan designs: Traditional or Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
- Dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, Premium Only Plan, and Flexible Spending Accounts
- Integrated Behavioral Health Program (IBHP) and Employee Assistance Program
- Life insurance coverage equal to the employee's certified annual salary rounded to the highest one thousand dollar, but not less than $20,000
- Supplemental life insurance equal to 100% of the employee's certified annual salary is also available
- Retirement benefits which are handled through the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI). PERSI offers two retirement benefit programs: A Defined Benefit Base Plan and a Defined Contribution Choice Plan 401k. Once vested, generally after 5 years of service, PERSI Base Plan Lifetime Benefits are guaranteed. PERSI also offers Gain Sharing and Disability Retirement Benefits.
