Introducing Admin Customer Alert: In response to our annual Customer Satisfaction Survey, many of you suggested we do a better job of informing our agency customers and other stakeholders about our services. We hope this e-newsletter will be of interest to you. It will be posted to our website on a regular basis, and we will notify viewers by email with the URL link. Capitol Restoration: Bonding has been approved, meetings continue with project management and design consultants, and Capitol tenants in preparation for restoration and expansion of the Idaho Statehouse, construction to begin in the spring of 2007. Last Session, the Legislature passed HCR 47 authorizing the Capitol Commission to modify its Master Plan and move ahead. See: Capitol Restoration Bulletin. Watch for continuing updates in this newsletter.


Employee Premium Holiday: The fiscal year 2007 compensation plan passed by the Legislature this past Session directed the Department of Administration to pay one month of group health insurance premiums. The Office of Group Insurance will pay both the normal state contribution and all employee/retiree paid premiums for December coverage for those enrolled in the plans. A notice will be mailed in mid-November to employee and retirees' homes.


Information Technology: A Statewide IT Security Conference, conducted by the Information Technology Resource Management council, brought together the state’s cyber security coordinators as part of activities related to Cyber Security Awareness Month this past October. This conference hosted over 10 separate vendors that provide products and services on the state’s IT Security Contract. Ppresentations on many different security issues ranging from intrusion prevention to secure remote access to how to control the privacy of personal information were given.. The most pressing security issues within the State of Idaho were also discussed.


State Purchasing: The State Records Center is working closely with the Administrator of the State Archives as relocation procedures begin for the Statehouse tenants in preparation for the Capitol restoration. The need for records management training for the tenants is being discussed. The Administrator of the State Archives, Linda Morton-Keithly would like to include the State Record Center as a part of the training for non-permanent records.
